Just when you thought it couldn’t
get any better, FOXPRO does it again! FOXPRO has expanded on many of
the great features of the FX3 to bring you this latest unit, the
FX5. Here are just a few of the FX5's enhanced features:

Display
 | The top photo is a close up of the graphic LCD display. The
top line displays the sounds that you have stored in your preset
buttons (none are stored in this picture as indicated by 000). The bottom line is the status line. The B denotes the
current channel that you are transmitting from. This channel can
be changed easily by a combination key press of the P3 and P4
preset buttons. The 000 above the "SOUND" line in the status line indicates the current
sound being played (Howling Dogs). The 00 above the "VOL"
indicates your
current volume setting of none, which changes as you raise or lower the
volume. The battery indicator is an indication of battery life
of the transmitter. The 19:52 is the timer. It shows that the
transmitter has been on for 19 minutes and 52 seconds. The timer
will roll over at 100 minutes back to 00:00 again and resume
count. |
| The preset buttons (you can store/change the preset calls -
Presets allow you to go directly to a favorite call with one
button push) are very easy to change. Simply depress the preset
button that you are setting for approx 4 seconds. At this time,
the top line of the display changes to read "Set snd/vol
press P1" (assuming that you are changing preset one).
Then, highlight the sound that you want programmed in that
particular preset position and adjust the vol with the volume
buttons to your desired level. Now, simply depress the preset
button that you are setting. The sound and volume level are now
stored in that position. |
| The recall button will allow you to switch back and forth
between the current sound being played and the last sound
played. The recall not only changes the sound, but also changes
the volume level to the level at which the particular sound was
played. |
| Transferring data from the main unit to the transmitter is
very easy. Once you reprogram the FX5, simply plug in the cable
to the aux jack of the main unit, and the other end into the
jack of the transmitter. Make sure both the transmitter and main
unit are off at this point. Then, turn on the transmitter, and
it will give you a readout of the instructions. It will tell you
to depress the sound down button of the main unit while turning
it on. The transfer then begins. The lcd screen on the main unit
will display the sound one by one while transferring, and the
transmitter will display a status bar. Once complete, the
transmitter will then tell you to recycle power on both units.
The transfer is now complete. |

but also your predetermined volume level--for example, preset 1
can be a coaxer at a low volume, preset 2 could be a pup
distress at high volume, preset 3 could be your favorite rabbit
at 1/2 volume, and preset 4 could be woodpecker at 1/4 volume |

| Also, when you are on a specific sound, you can hit the send
button, and that sound will restart at the beginning. When you
hit the mute button, the sound will pause, and restart at the
point you muted it |
| With the rotary selector, you can get through all 200 sounds
with one turn of the knob. The sound that you are playing, or
selecting will be highlighted (inverted). As you move the knob,
the highlighted sound will change. When you get to the top or
bottom of the displayed menu, the sound menu will page up 7
sounds, and so on. Easy to use. |
